Habit : A medium sized tree.
Habitat and Distribution : Common. Foothills to 800 m. Peninsular India and Sri Lanka.
Indigenous Information : Firewood species. The leaves are eaten by Deer. The bark mixed with other herbs is made into a paste with lime juice and applied over the body to cure allergies.
Field Tips : Bark brownish black, corky, deeply cracked. Leaf three - five nerved at base. Leaves glabrous, 3-5 nerved at base.
