Habit : A spreading herb.

Habitat and Distribution : Common weed on wastelands, fallow fields, especially disturbed ground. Hills 500-1000m. Tropical and sub tropical regions of the world.

Indigenous Information : Leaves and roots are highly medicinal.

Other relevent information : Flowers attract butterflies. Food plant for the caterpillars of the Lemon Pansy. Stem and root used in traditional medicine.

Field Tips : Stem is dark purple.
