Habit : A large deciduous tree.

Habitat and Distribution : Common on deciduous hill slopes above 750 m. Peninsular India.

Indigenous Information : The wood is strong and light and used to make agricultural implements..

Field Tips : Leaf fall February. New foliage March-April.

In axillary corymbose panicles,  white. Flowering from March-April.

Fruit :

A capsule, elongate, terete, pustulate. Seeds many, winged on their either side, compressed. Fruiting from April onwards.
