Habit : A moderate sized semi-evergreen tree.

Habitat and Distribution : Common in foot hills to 1400m. Peninsular India and Sri Lanka.

Indigenous Information : Apis cerana Bees nest in the cavities of this tree. Fruits edible. eaten by humans and birds.

Field Tips : Bark light greyish brown. Wood light brown smooth and close grained. Foliage and tender parts yellowish. Crushed leaf fragrant. Leaf fragrant. Leaf fall December-January. New foliage-March.
