Habit : An annual herb.

Habitat and Distribution : Common, grows gregariously in marshy areas. Plains from the coast to 1400m. India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, South China, Africa, Afghanistan, South Japan, Malaysia.

Other relevent information : Flowers attract butterflies. Pungent young shoots are cooked with other shoots.
