Habit : A large herbaceous plant.

Habitat and Distribution : Planted or a garden escape. Found in hills 800-1400m. Native to Peru, now cultivated as an ornamental. In all tropical regions.

Indigenous Information : The seeds are powdered and applied to the forehead as a pottu.

Other relevent information : Used in traditional medicines.
