Habit : An erect shrub with angular branches.

Habitat and Distribution : Shola borders, wayside thickets, Hill slopes from 1900-2300m. Western Ghats.

Field Tips : Branchlets shallowly-angled from the base of two leaves above.

Fruit :

A berry, globose, black when ripe. Seed 1. Fruiting from June onwards.
