Habit : Shrub.
Habitat and Distribution : Common in hills upto 1500m, occasional in plains. On wastelands, famrs, roadsides. Peninsular India.
Indigenous Information : Roots and leaves are used for medicinal purpose. Root good medicine for hangovers. Shoots crushed to prepare a medicine to cure mumps. Flower rolled in leaf of Mallotus philippensis and smoked like a beedi for relief from asthma. Seeds germinate profusely. Seeds crushed, mixed with oil and applied on wounds.
Field Tips : Leaves unequal at base, purplish dark green. Flowers trumpet shaped.
