Habit : A prostrate herb.

Habitat and Distribution : Locally abundant, not widely distributed. In fallow fields, upto 900m. Peninsular India.

Indigenous Information : Cattle avoid grazing on this plant.

In racemes, pink. Flowering from September-November.

Fruit :

A capsule, flat, closely striate. Seeds many with oblique, closed clefts, crested. Fruiting in December.
