Habit : An erect herb.
Habitat and Distribution : Abundant in plantation of the hills. Plains upto 1400m. Tropics.
Indigenous Information : Cattle graze on the leaves. During Pongal and the ragi festival theĀ flowers are used to decorate the house. the crushed leaves are used to treat dog bite.
Field Tips : Flowers slightly bent at the top and tend to get into the skin like spines, if pulled at.
